The History of Outdoors When The Scout Association's offices moved to Buckingham Palace Road in 1917, a shop was opened in the same building.
Following this innovation, further retail outlets were opened, from the 1920s onwards, in strategic locations throughout the country.
The warehousing facilities to support the growing demand for our products were housed in the basement of Buckingham Palace Road, which by now was known as Imperial Headquarters. This continued until 1966, when, as part of a major relocation, the Company's headquarters were moved to their current site at Lancing in West Sussex.
